Over the course of her career, Harris came out with 26 studio albums and with a lot more side materials, derived from these and from various other opportunities. Her first album, Gliding Bird, came out in 1969. In the 1970s, the singer came out with five new albums as follows: Pieces of the Sky (1975), Elite Hotel (1975), Luxury Liner (1977), Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town (1978) and Blue Kentucky Girl (1979). All these albums received Gold and Silver sales certifications in the United States of America and in the United Kingdom. The 1980s came out with even more studio albums, such as: Roses in the Snow (1980), Evangeline (1981), Cimarron (1981), White Shoes (1983), The Ballad of Sally Rose (1985), Thirteen (1986), Angel (1987) and Bluebird (1989). Only the first two albums managed to get Gold certifications in the U.S.
In the 1990s, Emmylou Harris recorded three studio albums: Brand New Dance (1990), Cowgirl’s Prayer (1993) and Wrecking Ball (1995). The same was counted for the 2000s, during which the singer came out with the following albums: Red Dirt Girl (2000), Stumble into Grace (2003) and All I Intended to Be (2008). All these albums managed to gain rather high positions in the specialty and in the general charts, which showed the fact that, Harris is still an artist to be recognized and appreciated. The latest studio album came out in 2011 and was called Hard Bargain.
